FLY SAFE!

Spring and beautiful flying weather are once again ours to enjoy. The updates at our field look fabulous; new tables, fencing, and frequency board, and fresh cut weeds, now hopefully the weekend winds will settle down again.  Just a few reminders: All of you are safety deputies, hereby so declared from your club safety officer. Be a friend and remind those who aren’t following the safety rules to do so. It is imperative to remember your frequency pin before turning on your transmitter. Be sure to preflight your aircraft by moving all control surfaces before starting, or make sure you’re on the right model, radio, and that throttle is down before plugging in your battery (for electric flyers). For safety sake, buddy up and hold those big birds down for your fellow pilot’s safety as they start their engines.

Now that you’re ready to go, check the field & air, warm up your voice by calling your intentions to take off. Take off should occur on the outer 2/3 of the runway. No vertical maneuvers should be preformed unless your aircraft is midpoint of the field or farther, (closer to the trees than the pits) from the flying stations/pits area. This includes touch and goes, helicopter maneuvers, and 3 D flying. There is NO flying allowed over the pit area, including electrics, glow, gas, helis, left turners, right turners, boys, girls, women or men (SO THIS INCLUDES YOU!) We love to watch you show how nimble your fingers are… at a safe distance.  After your dazzling performance let us know you are landing, and call direction as well so there will be no head on collisions, or near misses.

We look forward to a great fun fly and want everyone to have a safe experience! Leave your ego at home and take or give advice as needed to remind all pilots to follow safe flying procedures. That reminder to check your ailerons may well save your plane. We’re all human and make mistakes, so let’s get by with a little help from our friends.

Smooth Winds & SAFE landings!
